Nature's Colors

Antelope Canyon

This is a very unusual composition. One would not ordinarily include a large, black area in the central foreground. In this particular case, it was unavoidable. I think it is still a compelling image because the rest of the scene is almost surreal. Nature doesn't know anything about so-called compositional rules. It is just not possible to make every scene fit a series of rules. This is my favorite photograph.
This is a composite of two exposures, one for the top purple area, and the other for the golden canyon.
