What's New

Photos from my trip to Kenya last November can be found here. I went to Samburu, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara. Even though it was November, we saw wildebeest crossing the Mara River in both directions!

My New Osprey Nest Photos

The world's best place to photograph osprey action shots is at a fish farm in Finland (See below "How Those Great Osprey Photos Were Really Taken"). However, the Chesapeake Bay is one of the best places to photograph ospreys in the real world. See my new photos of an osprey nest located on a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay here.

Finally, we have a 23" iPS LCD monitor for about $300. The brightness and color are constant when viewed from any angle, making it ideal for photo editing. This is the best value on the market for a flat screen monitor suitable for photo editing. Find out more here.

How Those Great Osprey Photos Were Really Taken

Several articles have been published recently in various outdoor magazines which contain stunning closeups of ospreys catching trout. Epson R2880 Printer Deal

There is a $200 rebate on the Epson R2880 printer, if purchased between February 1 and March 28, 2009. This is a great deal on the best 13"x19" printer available. That brings the price down to $499.95 at Adorama, plus shipping ($37.75 to California). Unfortunately, they are out of stock. If you are in a hurry, you can get it at B&H for about $50 more ($589.95 with rebate, plus free shipping).

Quick Selection Tool

AdoramaPix is having a sale on prints which ends 1/19. 11"x14" prints are $1.99, and 8"x10" prints are only $0.99! This is the best, inexpensive lab that I've found.

Yosemite in Winter portfolio added

I recently had the good fortune to visit Yosemite during and just after the first major snowfall of the season. I received my Canon 5D MKII and 24-105mm f/4L IS lens from Adorama about 2 weeks before the trip was scheduled. This camera and lens was used for almost all the photos. Check out the photos here.
